Ben's Studio recently had quite the facelift, with the addition of this classic API 3232 console! With 32 channels of API 312 mic pre's & 550A EQs, 4 patchable 560 EQs, and 2 onboard classic API compressors, how can you go wrong? I'm telling you, this console sounds amazing!
We are very proud to call Ben's Studio home to this magnificent piece of audio history.
We've managed to muster up some old photos from the previous incarnations of our recording space. Above is one of the earliest... the original console and one of Chet Atkins' guitars. Check out our photos page to take a deeper peek into the then and now.

Ben's Studio is a place to come make a record. We'd love to have you!
We are one of the largest and most historic recording spaces in Nashville. After almost a decade of dedicated private use, we have recently re-opened to the recording community for commercial sessions.
Whether you are looking for the convenience of a modern ProTools recording session or a 2" analog recording experience, a day for tracking or a month to make a record - we've got who and what you need to make it happen. Have instruments? Great! Want to try what we've got? Feel free! We have a plethora of pianos, keyboards, drums, cymbals, basses, and guitars that are yours for the tinkering while you're here.
Many studios can offer "world class services", but we can offer those same services without the price or hassle - and with an amazing vibe to boot! It's about how you feel when you walk through our doors.
A WORD FROM BEN...
"I moved into the historic RCA Studio A in 2003 for the express purpose of making my own records. I was not interested in making it into a business - my record budgets covered all costs. We started with a few mics in this huge recording space and each time I produced or recorded a new record we added equipment. I've made and mixed all my records since 2003 in this studio along with a handful of other projects from William Shatner's "Has Been" to Amanda Palmer's "Who Killed Amanda Palmer".
Now we're all grown up and fully equipped and as I looked around last year I realized most of the other studios of this size and quality had disappeared. Especially the kind of studios set up for large ensembles and live recording. I'm spoiled now because when I record in other studios we have to spend loads of time placing mics and EQ-ing and I'm used to just setting up and recording in my studio. We've done live videos in this space with full film crew, band and live audience with room to spare. We've recorded full orchestras with ease, as this was what the studio was designed for. There's a lot of air around the sound without the annoying Men's Room reverb you normally get in a studio that size. In other words, its very well designed. As rare a studio as it is I wouldn't feel right if it wasn't available to those who need this kind of classic recording space during the times that I'm on tour and not using the space."
